FOODSAFE Level 1 is designed for cooks, servers, bussers, dishwashers, or deli workers. The program includes relevant and important information relating to food safety – including foodborne illness, receiving and storing food, preparing food, serving food and cleaning and sanitizing. Operators of food service establishments, including one present employee, must hold certification.
FOODSAFE Level 1 is an 8 hour class class presented by an instructor licensed by the local health authority. The Ministry of Advanced Education and Labor Market Development in connection with the BC Center for Disease Control and Provincial Health Services work together to deliver and continually improve the program and the curriculum resources. S.K.I.L.L.S. can assist students in registering and preparing for this examination.

FOODSAFE Level 1 is created to deliver content in an organized and easy to understand format. Course materials are included with course fees. Additionally, FOODSAFE Level 1 materials can be requested in English, Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, French, Japanese, Korean, Punjabi, Spanish, Tagalog, or Vietnamese.
