The security industry is a dynamic and evolving field with many career opportunities, including roles involving contract security services for events or construction sites, permanent stationing within hospitals, educational institutions, banks and retail operations. The BST (in British Columbia) and the ABST (in Alberta) are required licensing programs that examine legislation, legal authority and ethical obligations of security professionals.
The BST and ABST include 40 hours of instruction time and have been developed in accordance with the Canadian General Standards Board guidelines for security training. Participants will attend an in-person examination, administered by the provincial authority, requiring an 80% pass mark to be eligible to receive certification from the provincial authority.

In addition to satisfying all provincial requirements, our course materials, and qualified instructors, give you the skills and knowledge required to be successful on the certification exam as well as on the job. All course material is included in the class fees. However, additional licensing fees (paid directly to the province) will apply.
